Should the NBA adopt a mid-season tournament like soccer’s cup competitions to boost engagement?

I have recently noticed that there's no much engagement in NBA which is why I keep thinking that the NBA should adopt a mid-season tournament like soccer’s cup competitions because that mid-season tournament helps so much with bringing in lots of engagement in the sports.

Will doing this make NBA thrive more in engagement throughout the season?
