It's no secret that shoe sales are big business in the basketball industry. I remember when the first Air Jordans came out, they were over $100 usd. Back then that was a lot. Prices still haven't come down. I remember Olajuwon actually had a deal with Spalding to release a very affordable shoe line. But nobody wanted to wear Spalding shoes.
The point I'm trying to make here is, does it matter that much that you have to wear the hottest shoes in the business and pay a premium price, when you can wear a much affordable shoe with the same quality but much cheaper? Playing basketball shouldn't cost you a arm and a leg.
