League or knockout format?

How do you like to play in any sports that you're into? Do you prefer having to play using a league format where there's a number of games to be played and who's with the highest point would win or you prefer going through the knockout format like they do in cup games..?

Which one is your favourite and why?

League format takes a very long time to be completed. I prefer cup format with knockout. All my team need to do is put in a very good performance against their opponents to keep progressing and win the cup.
