Is Pau Gasol soft?

Pau Gasol is a great basketball player by my standards. He won back to back NBA titles with Kobe Bryant and still is doing a lot for the Los Angeles Lakers team (though he's currently injured). He has a good mid-range game and can score on the inside pretty well. But he has been criticized time and again by lots of people, saying that he's soft. Do you really think that Pau Gasol is soft? What is meant by soft anyway?

It has been long known that Foreign born NBA players are known to have good fundamentals and excellent shooters. When was the last time you've seen a brute force player like Shaquille Oneal come out from a foreign country? Is he soft? Perhaps. But I would like to think that he has other aspect of his game that makes him exceptional.

I don't know that I would agree that Pa Gasol is "soft", and I'm with you on the phrase being thrown around in some questionable ways anyway. At the very least, I think we can agree that he is an exceptional player and definitely a good attribute to the team. Some people are just always looking for that one little thing they can criticize, even if it is reaching on their part.
