Bobcats waive Ben Gordon hours after buyout deadline expires

In a move that seemed inevitable, the Charlotte Bobcats waived little-used veteran shooting guard Ben Gordon Sunday, hours after the deadline for him to be on another team’s playoff roster.

The Bobcats and Gordon had discussed a possible buyout that would have saved the team some portion of Gordon’s $13.2 million salary and granted Gordon his freedom. That would have had to happen by Saturday for Gordon to qualify for another team’s playoff roster.

It seems Gordon wouldn't negotiate his salary (hence the term "buyout"), so the Bobcats decided not to do him any favors either.

After all the money he's robbed us of I think it was a very apt move on our part.

Personally, I say big deal. Ben Gordon is and always will be full of himself. I remember clearly when he said nobody in the league was better than him. It's ok to think that, but to outright say that aloud, big no no.

I don't see even the lowest teams in the league wanting a guy like him. His mouth is worth more than his playing skills.
